Fast AG - Office of the Auditor General

Our History & Mandate

The Office of the Auditor General for Yobe State was established in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to ensure transparency, accountability, and proper management of public funds.

Our Fast AG initiative focuses on accelerating audit processes while maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. We leverage technology and best practices to deliver timely and accurate audit reports.

The office is responsible for auditing the accounts of all Ministries, Departments, Agencies, and Local Governments in Yobe State, providing assurance to the State House of Assembly and the public that public funds are used efficiently and effectively.

Our Mission & Vision
1991

Office Establishment

The Office of the Auditor General for Yobe State was established following the creation of Yobe State in 1991, with the mandate to audit all government accounts and ensure fiscal responsibility.

1995

First Comprehensive Audit

Conducted the first comprehensive state-wide audit, establishing baseline financial accountability standards for all government entities in Yobe State.

2003

Digital Transformation

Began the transition from manual to computerized audit processes, improving efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and compliance monitoring.

2015

Performance Audit Introduction

Introduced performance auditing to assess the economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of government programs and projects beyond traditional financial compliance.

2020

Fast AG Initiative Launch

Launched the Fast AG initiative to streamline audit processes, reduce turnaround time, and enhance public access to audit reports through digital platforms.
